While doing some designing in my own time (not work related) I gave myself a little brief. It was to create a poster/image for a charity or organisation. The idea was to create something strong that gets a message across without the need for huge amounts of text.
I chose animal charities/rescue centres. I done some sketches before going near any software and wasn't happy at the first few drafts so I made solid choices to make it easier. A dog, care and make it heart-warming/empathetic. I liked setting myself design briefs just to keep it interesting.
